Alapi'i and Kaelemakule are two traditional Hawaiian Koa canoes from the late 1800's that were salvaged and restored in the mid 1990's.  They are cared for and maintained by the Nakoa Foundation.  These canoes are taken to cultural festivals and other educational functions and are the center piece of the Nakoa Foundation's outreach program.

He Make'e Wa'a curriculum has been posted on the Hemakeewaa.org web site and is used in both our Na Pe'a and Outreach programs. He Make'e Wa'a examines the physical and spiritual aspects of the Hawaiian canoe and is used in relating the unique construction and cultural features of the Hawaiian canoe to program participants.  The entire program is available to anyone interested at the hemakeewaa.org    website.
